¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ

I am an intersex scholar-activist whose research, teaching, and activism are at the intersection of medical violence and feminist theories. After earning my bachelor’s degree in sociology at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ in 2004, I went on to the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee where I received my master’s degree in sociology followed by the University of Illinois at Chicago for my PhD in sociology. Having studied and taught at various universities across the county, my love for ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ has only grown. When I was a first-generation college student at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ, I didn’t quite realize how incredibly unique ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Sociology was in terms of the faculty to student ratio, mentorship opportunities, and most importantly, the vibrant student community. I have no doubt that the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ Sociology community played an important role in my evolution as an unapologetic intersex scholar-activist.
