Eleven members of the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ community were honored during the 20th Annual Black Heritage Awards ceremony on Feb. 25 in Alumni Hall on the Main Campus. 

Forty years ago, the Commission on the Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC) hearings were held on Northeastern’s Main Campus. This week, Northeastern will commemorate the anniversary of the hearings with a special Japanese American Redress Conference, which will feature artists, activists and scholars from across the country to examine the significance and influence of the CWRIC hearings as well as how racism continues to impact non-white Americans. Northeastern also named Kamau Rashid as Founding Director of the Ed.D. in Urban Education and Latinx/o/a Heritage Month is underway. When the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in March, forcing the rapid shift to remote teaching and learning for the rest of the Spring 2020 semester, ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ’s Student Center for Science Engagement had just put out a call to the faculty for its Undergraduate Summer Research and Professional Training Program.
